A Boy Scout’s Guide Worldwide
Fall 2024This book is a détournement, or reworking of two different original works to create an entirely new piece for the class entitled “Copy Culture”. 

The two books I chose are “The Boy Scout’s Handbook” by the Boy Scouts of America, published in 1967, and “Winning Hearts and Minds: War Poems by Vietnam Veterans”, which is a collection of poetry written by veterans who fought in Vietnam. Poetry depicting harrowing war stories is placed among imagery of young, patriotic Boy Scouts learning how to best serve their country.
